2021 EXPECTATIONS
What did you think was going to happen? Did you think, as the clock struck 12:01am and the calendar page flipped to 1/1/2021; that everything would be back to what it was in the good old days? Did you think the virus would be gone, the political and civil unrest would vanish, and we would return to a gentler, more dignified and simpler time? If that is what you thought when looking forward to the end of 2020, well guess what; 2021 just told 2020, “Hold my beer and let me show you how it’s done.” One popular meme on social media says, “Dear 2021, I’ve had my 7 day free trial and have decided to cancel my subscription.”
I don’t have a crystal ball or any divine knowledge to tell you what is going to happen in the coming year. What I do have is enough sense to understand that, even with a vaccine, you don’t eradicate a global pandemic in days or weeks. This fight will be measured in months or possibly years depending on the cooperation levels from manufacturing, to distribution, to the general public’s willingness to follow protocols and willingness to be vaccinated.
It hasn’t been pretty and it will probably get uglier before it gets better, but, together we can make it. We can make a difference one person at a time, starting with the person you see in the mirror every day. We need to all try a little harder to be better people. You’ve got a lot on your plate right now, so start small. What is one thing about you, or that you do, that does not increase the positive in the world? Like a pebble dropped in a pond, one small improvement can have a ripple effect in your life that will radiate out to the world.
We have been, and continued to face challenges as an essential business. As part of the healthcare supply chain we are working hard to have the scrubs, coats and PPE you need, when you need it. Our manufacturers are striving to stay on schedule while working short staffed with strict safety protocols in place to keep their staff healthy and safe. Pre-pandemic, most orders shipped out within 1-2 business days. At this time most orders are running at 2-3 business days to depart the warehouse. Unfortunately, even orders with expedited shipping received before our daily cutoff time, may not ship the same day, but we will make every effort to get it out that day.
US Mail, FedEx and UPS have all reported delays due to high package volume. Pair that with the reduced staffing in the distribution hubs to allow staff to social distance; means that shipping transit times can be impacted. As of March 2020, UPS and FedEx have suspended their guarantee of transit times for Expedited shipping. (Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, 3day Express) This means that they will not issue a refund of Air shipping charges due to transit delays.
