A MAN WEARING A MASK WALKED INTO A BANK…..
Sounds like the beginning of a story about a bank robbery or some bad joke. Even six months ago who would have ever thought it would be acceptable and even expected of us to go to a bank, shop in a store, or go to church wearing a mask? Well my friends that is exactly where we are today.
But not all of us are on board. I know one lady who has such acute claustrophobia that the fabric covering her mouth and nose sends her into a full blow panic attach. The few folks with this level of anxiety are the exception to this little lecture. I still see many folks ignoring the social distance guidelines, moving into the personal space of others and not wearing a mask. They aren’t afraid of something they can’t see and are convinced that it is just like getting the flu. Well for some folks it is, but for others it can be deadly.
I get it, wearing a mask especially during the summer is uncomfortable and no one wants to do it especially after wearing one for an 8 to 12 hour shift at work. Are we really so selfish that we would put our own comfort before the health and life of our fellow man? If you are a strong as a horse, healthy individual, with an immune system that just won’t quit, then you are blessed. Yes, blessed, but you could still be carrying the virus to others. So what about the person in the store with you who has an underlying health condition or a compromised immune system?
