SELF CARE
Please understand this: Taking care of your self is not selfish.
If you are reading this blog, you are more than likely a health care professional, or support staff in the health care field. You work long crazy hours, where weekends and holidays are not off limits. You miss out on things going on in your own family’s life to enrich the life of others with your skills and your care.
I know, you love your job. You love helping others. You live to serve. It’s why you sought this vocation. No matter how much we love the job and are working on a servant attitude, professional burnout is a very real thing. Often it seems the more you give, the more people expect you to give. Between the job and your home life, it can be overwhelming.
I found no shortage of information online about the need for healthcare professionals to take self-care seriously. Here are just a few.

So what can we do about it? We can start to take care of ourselves. In past blogs we had a few good starting points for self-care. Take a look at these past blogs to get started today.
